Hey Guys,
Busy putting together a word/buddy press site for some of my friends and I. It is all still very new so content is thin.
Any advise on layout, or design or anything would be really appreciated. I see some of you guys have done some great work, and this is my first attempt, so be gentle please.
Please just ignore some of the logos for now, we;re still designing them :)
And sorry if it's a bit slow, South African hosting isn't the greatest.

It's too black and not some kind tide in first sight.
Why not chooese a American hosting?There're many cheaps.
I´ve got a problem with the resolution of the header. I can clearly see the pixels. And that´s nonprofessional. If you make the header a gif then you will save a lot of memory. Make the resolution bigger.

A bit sloppy honestly. Always make a website as a photoshop mockup first rather then just using what looks like random images placed in a wordpress template. Instead use wordpress as the CMS that it is.

Thanks guys, appreciate the honesty.
The graphics and logos are still being designed, and I'm useless at that sort of stuff ! Just in charge of getting and keeping it running.
Been a bit pre-occupied, wife had a baby on Monday :)
I do feel the theme is a bit limiting, so once we're happy with the next POC will update.

Well finally kind of happy with the site, took your suggestions and did a complete overhaul.

Nice. Looks like you've made major improvements judging from the comments above to what I see now, kudos :-)
Checked out the BuddyPress pages and all looking good except on the Albums page http://www.speedhunters.co.za/members/nnekasessentials/album/ where sidebar is moved to under the content area.

Thanks, yip was a complete redesign. Original design was very basic and well...junk!
I've decided to stop registrations for now and pretty much move away from the buddypress option, original idea was too let users post, but from what I've seen, it's a bit to complex for the average user. May re-enable at a later stage and use it purely for the groups/bbforum. And the amount of spam users to the site is just stupid, create an account and just flood the site with junk :(
And nice find on the Albums page, will have to look into that one, got no idea whats happening there :(

And I also moved off the South African host onto bluehost, so far so good, seem very decent.
Thanks mercime, the baby's alot of hard work :)
