Captions on slideshow: title only, no excerpt? (9 posts)

    I was wondering if there's a way to make the captions on the slideshow display only the page or post title, with no excerpt and the blank space where it would normally go removed to make the caption smaller.

    Captions are enabled. I want the page titles to appear where they do on the images, without an excerpt (as my pages only contain YouTube embeds) and the whole caption brought down so that title line is flush with the bottom of the picture.

    hi fusionaddict,

    try adding this CSS snippet to your CSS overwrite section:

    ** go to APPEARANCE -> THEME SETTINGS -> CSS tab **

    div.cc_slider .featured .ui-tabs-panel .info {
    top: 221px;
    }

    div.cc_slider .featured .info h2 > a {
    font-size: 28px;
    text-transform: uppercase;
    }

    div.cc_slider .featured .info h2 {
    padding: 5px;
    }

    Hi! I have the same problem... I try to change the visibility and the display, even the margin (Thanks konradS), but the changes are just visible on firefox and chrome, not in safari.

    I was looking at the code with firebug and It says the style on the excerpt is made with an span class... Do you where can I found the php to check it ip? I looked for the slideshow at the header and at the index page, but I wasn't able to find it.

    Thanks!

    hi rosaliaiaia,

    better never change theme files, your changes would be lost with every update. the safe way would be to make a child theme.

    checkout our knowledge base for more info on this and tips: http://support.themekraft.com

    best is to work with CSS as much as possible.

    do you have a link to your website? maybe then we can sort it out quick and easy..

    hi - having similar problems on a non-wordpress.com site in getting the height of the caption correct - it's cutting off the last line of the text, (the shortcode you provided in another post doesn't work because I'm not in wordpress.com... ) so I was hoping to use the snippet you put above to just use the caption:

    div.cc_slider .featured .ui-tabs-panel .info {
    top: 221px;
    }

    div.cc_slider .featured .info h2 > a {
    font-size: 28px;
    text-transform: uppercase;
    }

    div.cc_slider .featured .info h2 {
    padding: 5px;
    }

    HOWEVER, this did not work, warped the site and then wiped ALL my hard work of settings, background, etc... back to a reset. Not nice.

    Why not just put the css somewhere where we can see it, so we can know what to add as css, etc..? Would be so useful to see where fonts are kept, for example. Or be able to modify the slider, which has so many bugs...

    Hi LauraC1968,

    how could that happen?

    did you copy the snippet to THEME SETTINGS -> CSS tab ?

    Then just press save and nothing else can be affected.. you can always go back and remove the snippet or modify it..

    is your issue resolved by now? let me know, konrad
