Someone Help please! I am using the 2013 template with wordpress and I am trying to figure out how to get the captions to show up on my gallery images (on the image, or underneath- either one.) Right now, the caption shows up when you hover over the image in the gallery, but is not there if you don’t hover over it. Plus, if you are using a mobile device you won’t get to see the gallery captions at all because it doesn’t work to hover over them.

There was a similar post about this where someone answered her about starting a child theme and changing it that way, but i don’t understand child themes and the explanation was super complicated to me. (I am very new to css and only know what i have taught myself through forums.)

Basically, I would like to change this in the main theme without having to figure out a child theme. Is this possible?

I cannot provide a link to my site. I have it password protected because i have not launched it yet.

I figured this out. You delete the “Display:none” underneath the gallery caption in the mobile device section to get the captions to show up on your mobile devices. Also, if you want the captions to show up on your computer before you hover, you need to change the opacity from 0 to 1. I changed my “hover” opacity to .75, so that it would look a little different when I hovered over it, but so that it would still be visible.
Hope this helps someone else with the same problem. Thanks!
