One of our customers, who uses WordPress multisite has been trying to add new users from the WordPress dashboard under Users…Add New

The usual form for Username and Email is visible, but there’s also a red warning saying ‘ERROR:Please enter a valid CAPTCHA value.’

But there’s no CAPTCHA question visible to let her put in a value.

As a workaround she disabled the CAPTCHA plug-in for a 30 seconds so she could work with the form.

Is this a small bug in the plug-in or is there something else we should try instead?

  • Hello helpfulwebhosting,

Yes, we found this bug. It appears because the registration hooks of new user in the admin area and in the frontend coincide, and the captcha is displayed only when user is registered in the frontend.
We will fix this problem in the nearest future. Please turn off the captcha displaying in the captcha settings on the users registration page.

    Hello BWM Support Team,

Great plugin. A similar bug happens with the following settings:
    Enable CAPTCHA for: Login form

On the /wp-login.php?action=resetpass our users receive the message
“ERROR: Please enter a valid CAPTCHA value.”

    Hope this helps,

    Hello dkrahl,

It is not clear how you do to this link /wp-login.php?action=resetpass.
Which WordPress version do you have? Is it custom form or standard WordPress form?
Please provide a full link instead of /wp-login.php?action=resetpass

    Kind regards,
    Support Team
