capabilities for custom post types (2 posts)

    I am using a paid theme that has custom post type - Ads.
    I want to give ability to a particular role to access, add/edit this custom post type. How can I do that.

    Also, I have contacts form 7 plugin. How can I restrict editor role to access "contact" menu option that is created by this plugin.

    Contact Form 7: read-only access: edit_posts, to edit CF7 forms user should have: publish_posts permission.

    The most of times custom post type use WP standard 'post' related capabilities. So you need to check is theme defined custom capability for its custom post type of not, as the 1st step. To move further read this article:
