Canvas child theme css overridden (4 posts)

Does anybody have a solution to this:

I have created a child theme for twentytwelve which works. On the other hand my child theme for woothemes canvas doesn't. It can be activated, appears to see the css in style.css (actually works for some custom classes which I have used in a content page), but appears to override the css with the css for the parent theme (the child theme css appears in firebug, but is crossed out).

Any solutions or pointers would be much appreciated.

I fixed it, of sorts, by resetting all the theme options. But it appears that theme options override style.css. Is this how it works?

Actually I got that wrong... they override custom.css for the parent, so back to square 1

You'll need to get help from WooThemes for canvas questions -- commercial themes are not supported here.

CSS is determined by specificity -- so there's not really an absolute answer to your question -- depends on the location and selectors for the styles in question.
