   Hi,

   I can FTP to my webhosts (powerstorm.net)parent directory but not to the /public_html/ subdirectory where wordpress is installed.I was initially unable to install wordpress there either so the webhost did it.

   Now, I am trying to upload a new theme to the themes folder and it "acts" like the folder is being uploaded but zero files transferred. I uploaded a test folder and file though to the parent directory and it worked but not into the wordpress directory. This is driving me bonkers!

   Any ideas, please? Thank you very much!

   You need to get with your host as this is more of a hosting issue than anything to do with wordpress. Sounds like the ownership of the directory may be the cause and that's something your host is going to have to deal with.
