i noticed that since upgrading to 2.7.1, i now cannot write a post in Visual mode. only HTML mode is working for me. if i click on the Visual tab, nothing happens.
i had to do a manual upgrade from 2.7 to 2.7.1 (i think it has something to do with my host, 1&1.com). could it be possible that i screwed something up, which has left me unable to use the Visual editor?
please help. i'm not good at writing in HTML mode.

no problem with my blog after upgrade from 2.5 to 2.7.1. its possible that you've screwed something up. or have you turn on it through your profile section?

I'm having the same issue. I'm new to WP as well. I read all the suggestions for this in a thread regarding 2.7 and tried all the recommendations I was knowledgeably able to with no luck. I'm on 2.7.1 and the only plug in I have is thread comments. Also I see nowhere in profiles to enable/disable these tabs. Please help a newbie.

Been using 2.7 for a while now. Have not upgraded to 2.7.1 and my Visual editor tab quit working again, just like it did in previous versions. I have made zero changes to the system at all, and it's very frustrating.
Although the HTML tab is lit while writing, I can still use visual editor features, but when I save the post, all of the paragraph tags are stripped and the entire post turns into one large single spaced paragraph.
I spend more time screwing around with the software than I do writing.

Anyone? Is there a newer version than 2.7.1 that might help? Should I downgrade to 2.7? If so how do I go about that with out loosing everything?

no problems, you just re-install the latest wp 2.7.1
