[resolved] Can't view the pages I created (7 posts)

    Hello Everybody,

I started building my site by creating a few pages. They are listed in Manage Pages list as well as in the sidebar. But when I click "view" or try to open them through "view site" and corresponding links on the sidebar, I always get the main page.

I also noticed that it's the same with the test post and comment created during installation. To sum it up: no links work on my site.

    My site: http://www.zielvis.com/wordpress/

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

    Marcin

    Hi Zielvis

Your blog is located at http://www.zielvis.com/wordpress/

However when I click your posts or page, this URL loads instead: http://www.zielvis.com/?p=1

The URL should be: http://www.zielvis.com/wordpress/?p=1 Try clicking that, that'll work. (:

I think you should log into your admin panel >> Options >> Change the URL of your blog from http://www.zielvis.com/ to http://www.zielvis.com/wordpress/

    Hope that works! *crosses fingers*

    Hi Fantasycrusader

Looks like it helps - thanks! :)

By the way - can You tell me how to have the main page of my blog at the topmost URL of my site - like "www.zielvis.com" (instead of "www.zielvis.com/wordpress")?

    Regards,

    Marcin

If you wanted it at the root - why did you install it in a subfolder (wordpress)?

    Either move it
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
    or follow the tutorial:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

I had it installed automatically by my hosting provider. I must have missed something along the way. Can I now simply move all the files to the main folder?

    Thank You for Your reply,

    Marcin

You can move it anywhere... provided you read the documentation!

Thanks a lot guys - putting together pieces of Your advice and finding mistakes in what I was trying to do earlier, I think now I have the problem solved :)

    Regards,

    Marcin
