I've been uploading images to posts fine for about 2 years now, then today suddenly my browser (no matter what browser I use) freezes up when I try to upload a new photo. I checked my space and I have plenty left.
I just upgraded to 2.7 but that didn't help either. I'm running XP. What could be wrong? Appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.

I have exactly same issue . ANd still no answre from WP.
I got red cross instead of the picture.
Seems to me that the photo upload is a common WP problem at the moment
Tried to upload a pics through nextGEN gallery (it is a separate widget you need to upload via plugins).
And it actually works - you may try this alternative.

yep, the wordpress geniuses appear to be stumped on this one.
Yeah - you're sure to get an answer using that language. Clue ... anyone here offering help is a VOLUNTEER not employed by WP who has gained enough experience in WP to assist with many questions. There are few if any people here who are expert in all possible solutions to any possible problem. IOW, this is a USER forum - not directly supported by WP developers.
That said, have you tried manually uploading pictures by FTP to an appropriate folder and simply using image tags in your posts? That's how I do it, and I am far from even a "semi" expert WP user. Works for me. Every time.
