Can't upload photos to posts

    I recently updated my wordpress and now I can’t seem in insert photos to my posts. Before it was simple, I clicked insert media and the insert gallery option screen came up where I could chose files from my computer. But now when I click insert media nothing happens except a “#” is added to the end of my url in the address bar and nothing else. This happens on safari and fire fox. Am I missing something simple?
