cant upload photos and save or publish (6 posts)

    When I upload images in the write post section, it uploads the image fine and the code appears in the text box like its supposed to, but when I click on either “save and continue editing”, “save” or “publish”, it keeps going back to my homepage and not saving or publishing anything! This only happens when I upload images. Can anyone help?

    What browser, browser version, and os are you using?

    Any security programs being run?

    anything in your webservers error logs?

    Hi,

    I'm using xp and have tried various web browsers (Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and the latest version of Firefox).

    There arent any security programs being run. I've also used about 3 or 4 different computers and it still has the same problem.

    The only thing that I can find in my webservers error logs is this:

    Hey I have the EXACTLY the same problem... (edit page bombs to front page on save/save&continueediting.

    i am a wp newcomer, with

    wp2.1.1 & a slightly tweaked default theme.
    firefox (although have tried with IE)

    (indeed i get the same problem with other themes, so I have ruled that out)

    I ONLY get this problem when I try to upload markup or non-standard characters. (for instance including an image) incidentally I DONT get this "bomb out" with plain text.

    Tried swiching off the wysiwyg editor for my user,
    forcing everthing i could find to utf-8 (in wp and .htaccess file)
    but to no avail
    its really doin my head in. Something as fundamental as including images not working "out of the box" is a bit groanworthy....
    im on day 2 of it already.....

    Same problem! I've used WordPress for various sites in the past and this is the first time I've had this problem - wish I had a clue what was causing it..

    it sorted out this problem an also my weird lookin dashboard.......
    not sure about the security implications tho, not knowing much about the ol' .htaccess (yet)
