• Hi,

Very odd issue I’m having. I’ve uploaded a new website and have WordPress 3 running. Everything was fine for me on my PC however my client is on a mac and couldn’t see how to upload images (the browse button missing).

So I tried on my mac also, not browse button. I have tried changing the theme to the default theme and the same issue – so it’s can’t be theme.

I’ve tried it with WordPress 2.9 and no problems.

Seems it doesn’t matter what browser I use, it just doesn’t work on a mac. Strange? Any suggestions?

  • What web browser? I’m sitting here on a mac and have no issues with any sites I’m maintaining.

First step would be to re-install WordPress maybe something was missed that’s affecting this.

I am having the exact same problem on a brand new, clean install of WordPress 3.0.1. Running OSX 10.6.4 I’ve tested in FireFox 3.6.8, Chrome 5.0.375.127 and Safari 5.0.1. When I try to upload a file from the media section or from within a post, the body of the page is empty. I would venture a guess that the JavaScript/Flash that runs to initialize the SWFUpload component is not executing properly.

I tested on Windows XP running IE 8 and the same instance of WordPress properly displays the Flash uploader form.

It would be a safer move by the WordPress team to have the standard HTML upload form appear by default and then use progressive enhancement to render the Flash upload form if the user’s system supports it.

For now I’ll either need to modify the WordPress source code to use the HTML upload form by default or use my Virtual Machine (Windows) to upload files to my blog.

Possible to get the code? My browse button is also not appearing. I would appreciate (so much) if someone could be real explicit in the coding solution. ie. what to replace and with what. 🙂

    bump.

if someone could provide a solution it’d be REALLY appreciated!
