Can't upload images anymore? Existing files seem to be missing? (8 posts)

My WP site seems to have been working fine. I have been using FIlezilla to upload images and have a fair few on my site already. I was uploading a new image a couple of days ago, and it wouldn't upload, instead the thumbnail was a blue square with a white question mark in it. I looked at all my other media files and the existing images all had the same. I could only view them if I clicked into Edit Image.

I have viewed the permissions for the images and set them on 777 and still nothing.
They all seem to be in the correct folder in wp-content/uploads

I'm just very confused. Is there something that I could have possible done that would have screwed all of this up? I upgraded to the latest version of WP, but the problem was there before I did that.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Check your uploads path in Settings -> Media.

the default setting is on wp-content uploads, with the box ticked below saying organise into year-month folders. And that corresponds to the ftp files...

Try leaving the uploads path blank.

Have you checked to see if the image files are present in the wp-content/uploads folder using FTP?
