Can't Upload Images and Images Aren't Showing Up

In my “Media” section, the list of image thumbnails are not showing up (they’re broken). Also, when I try to upload a new image, I get an error.

This has gone on for awhile, since I moved from XAMPP to my live server, but have ignored it, since I was able to ftp the images, and they would show up.

I just updated my theme though, and now many of my images will not show up on my live site.

I’m assuming this is related to the upload errors i’m getting and the broken media images.

I’ve read about many other with the same problem, but no clear fix, but most of the posts were a year ago.

Would appreciate any help.
