    Yes, this happened to me as well. It could be an incompatible plugin or theme, so they usually tell you to turn off all your plugins and check and then enable them one by one to see which breaks it, and if that doesn't work then switch to the default theme and check again. That will tell you where the problem is.

    In my case, it was my theme, which I had customized to load a newer version of jquery which was no longer newer and didn't support whatever they are doing with the media uploader.

    I'm having the same problem.

  4. Make sure you've read the entire Master List post and the New Features in 3.3 Post.

    Go to your own install's about page - http://domain.com/wp-admin/about.php - to see what's new.

    And then make sure you've tried...

    - flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches.

    - deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). If you can't get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder. The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems. If you can't log in to change themes, you can remove the theme folders via FTP so the only one is twentyeleven. That will force your site to use it.

    - manually upgrading. When all else fails, download a fresh copy of the latest.zip file of 3.3 (top right on this page) to your computer, and use that to copy up. You may need to delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders on your server. Read the Manual Update directions first!

    The plugin that caused to problem was WP Time Machine.

    WP Time Machine was also causing this error for me... deactivated it and everything is on and cracking again.

    May be you need to re-install all plug-ins after upgrading for 3.3 version

    Deactivated and reactived all the plugins but hasn't helped wouldn't work with all plugins inactive either.

    The media uploader looks like its uploading gets to 100% but then there is no image and the image hasn't been uploaded to the server either. I tried using the old upload method as well and that also doesn't work.

    Got the same problem with a fresh install of WP 3.3.

    I've checked the folders permission thrice (even put everything under 777) and got the "no permssion" error.

    Any idea?

    I have the same issue on a Unix server using Firefox and where I have cleared the cache. I have deactivated all plug-ins and switched themes, with no progress. I also cannot place an image that is already in the media library nor access an image by URL. I *am* able to copy the image to the appropriate directory using Dreamweaver, but that's as far as I can get. The image does not appear in my media browser once uploaded, but I don't think that it ever has when manually uploaded.

  14. FYI - If a post is resolved, it's in your best interest to make a NEW post.

    Ipstenu, the above thread I posted on last week was started 3 weeks ago and no one from support has offered any answers. I have the exact same issue as the original poster: a jQuery error. Can someone please look at that and help us out?

    same issue. this is so difficult to deal with... I wish I knew where to look. It's not my plugins.

    I was having this issue and the plug in causing the issue for me was the Postible Facebook Content Management plug in. This is the 2nd Facebook type plug in that has caused a problem like this for me so I'd suggest you have a look at any you may have installed. Deactivating this mod was all I needed to do to get the select files button working again. The Facebook plug in didn't even work ;-)

    Thanks for your advice. I think it has something to do with my customer's server and not anything with the wp setup or plugins. I've deactivated the plugins and switched themes back and forth nothing worked.

    They have a windows server and I think it's some kind of permissions issue I just don't know enough about servers to figure it out.

    BTW, not using facebook plugin. But thanks.

    I have the same issue. the media upload window loads (slowly), I click the search image and nothing happens. within a post or in the media library.

    It doesn't work if you search for images either. search works but no thumbnail just title. then if you click on show nothing happens.

    So effectively I am unable to add images to posts or to library

    Same. Only my problems is Events Manager, nothing to do with Facebook. The QuickPress on the dashboard works, but no where else, posts or pages. I have gone through all the suggested steps to no avail.

    This resolved it for me as well. It was WP-TImeMachine on WP3.3.1

    I am having the same issue. I have tested with a new wordpress installation with only nextgen gallery plugin. I have activated the default themes twenty ten/twenty eleven. On click 'select files' button nothing happens in firefox. It is working correctly in chrome. I have checked with all the previously said solutions but didn't work at all.

    There is a div with class="plupload html5" and opacity:0, which contains an input box with type="file". If we position this div in the same position of the button 'plupload-browse-button' 'Select files' will work in all browser.

    var p = $("#plupload-browse-button");
    var position = p.position();
    $('.plupload').css('left',position.left);
    $('.plupload').css('top',position.top);
    $('.plupload').css('height','25px');
    $('.plupload').css('width','90px');

    I Deactivate all Plugin but it's not working.

    I got this error :
    "logo.png" has failed to upload due to an error
    The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxxxx/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads.

    I check my permission and that is also fine.

    I have done everything that anyone has suggested and the media insert/upload button remains completely dead - cannot load any media, doesn't even want to try. Never had any problem before change single media button instead of 2, but I can't say specifically when this happened because I've only just tried to upload new images. There's a Spanish site that suggests its to do with http:// and that if you use https://all is OK. I tried that and it hung up completely, wouldn't even load the site. Have tried IE9, Firefox, Seamonkey. Also Palemoon(based on Firefox) now crashes completely. Something ain't right here....any ideas from WordPress cause I'm STUCK.

    Same problem, deactivated all plugins, switched to 2011 theme, and still can't upload images via the new tool or the old "browse" tool. The server is a windows server. I've been told permissions are ok.

    My problem is fixed. I deactivated plugins and themes and nothing worked but when I cleared safari's history, I was able to get it working.
