I just installed wordpress on my new site and for some reason whenever i try to upload my own image, it redirects me to a broken link. Am I missing a file or something like that?

I just installed wordpress on my new site and for some reason whenever i try to upload my own image, it redirects me to a broken link. Am I missing a file or something like that?
Check your uploads path in Settings->Media. On most installs, it should be blank.
