   Hello all
   I'm on WordPress 2.8.6 and I keep updating my WP core the day WordPress releases an update. I usually use Live Writer to write posts and then edit it from WordPress backend. But today, I noticed that I couldn't post through Live Writer. When I choose to 'Publish'/'Publish & Edit', I end up with an error that says that an error has occurred with /xmlrpc.php. It also says that a 500 Internal Server has occurred.

   Also, when I try to edit a (an already written) post and click Update, it keeps loading and ends up with a 'Connection was reset' page on my Firefox, with the page /wp-admin/post.php

   Of late, I've been having more hits on /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php and sometimes, /xmlrpc.php. I doubt it would be some SQL Injection, but am always on the latest version of WP.

   Can someone please help me on this issue?

   I'd try a re-upload of the wp-admin files. Possibly something got corrupted.

   Thank you for your reply, @Ipstenu. I just tried copying /admin/admin-ajax.php and /xmlrpc.php from R1Soft Backup created a week back, and the posting problem seems to have resolved.
