Somebody made a pleasant very general comment on one of my posts, and the author is listed as this:
Jones sabo if the device has issues greater than
    progressiveastronomy.org/node/4#comment-3735192 x
    ofqukx@gmail.com
    119.2.49.154

This seems weird, but astronomy might be related to my topic (robotics). It got past Akismet, but still I wonder. If I approve it, what's the worst that could happen?
    Thanks!
    C

Spam comments are normally pleasant and vaguely related to just about any subject you can think if.

what's the worst that could happen?

You will end up with spam links on your site. Personally, I would suggest that, if you are in doubt, trash it. It looks like spam to me.

The site is a genuine site of the Institute for Progressive Astronomy. The comment number shows that someone who commented there might have posted it. You may approve or disapprove. Perhaps you might have suspected it as an intrusion, no?
Edit: As an afterthought, after reading esmi's suggestion, I too suggest that all doubtful links may be disapproved.

Ok, now I feel guilty. Astronomy is very related to robotics. Haven't trashed it yet.

But what's all that strange part of the author's name . . ."if the device has issues . . ."

Sorry to keep pushing on this, but I'm new at this and want to learn.

Good call, in my opinion. Even genuine sites can sign up (quite innocently) for "SEO Optimization" services - completely unaware that their "supplier" actually employs spamming. I wouldn't go as far as marking these as spam if you're not 100% sure but neither would I approve anything that I wasn't 100% happy with.

It's your site after all, You get to say what does - and doesn't - get published. :-)

Hmmm. Tough call. I like that there's middle ground - won't mark it spam, won't approve it either. Will try to not feel guilty about this.
    Thanks again.
