Can't style comment buttons the way I want them (10 posts)

    I've tried everything. Here's my comment form:

    http://familywebwatch.com/blog_test/2005/04/18/latest-id-theft-scam-could-be-in-your-inbox/#comments

    All I want is:

    1. for them to be your standard default, rounded-corner buttons, not the ugly beige, rectangular things I have now. It may be something with my css, but it's all blurring now. :)

    2. for the "Link" button to be a button like the rest, not just a box; I can't figure out why it lost its 3D-ness.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks, macmanx. I was thinking of using images as last resort and may well be heading that direction. How do other bloggers do it without images? I figure by using CSS.

    Now that I've had a chance to spend some time with the above advice, I think I need to clarify. On my comment form, I wanted to change the style of the buttons that are used to add formatting styles to the text. However, while that would be my preference, I don't mind using images if it'll get the job done.

    I've created the following image: familywebwatch.com/blog_test/wp-content/themes/Blix/images/bold.gif

    I've inserted it into my style sheet so that it should be used instead of the text button. That's the way it's supposed to work in theory, however, the only image that actually shows up is the default "link" button which is located in the same folder as the "bold" one.

    Any suggestions?

    Just posting back my findings for future generations.

    I only wanted to use images for the buttons in my comment form if I couldn't find out how to make the "standard" buttons appear. For Blix users that want to do the same thing, open your spring_flavour.css and comment out this bit of code:

    form input, form textarea {
    border-color:#DCDCDC #F0F0F0 #F0F0F0 #DCDCDC;
    }

    form .button {
    border-color:white #DCDCDC #DCDCDC white;
    background-color:#F0F0F0;
    }

    And I'm wondering how to change the size of the buttons on my comment form. http://blog.fitofvanity.com/?p=88

    I don't want them to be big and in two columns. I would rather they be a size relative to the text in the button and not all the same size.

    NullaSalus, a new thread would better serve your purpose.
