   I have narrowed down this issue to being attributed to Private Suite plugin being active. When it is active and one tries to set a static page as home it switches and says "main page no parent".

   I wonder if you ever found a fix for this or an alternative that doesn't break WP core functionality?

   Hmm I think I controlled it in the template using a home.php file and loaded the content I wanted through that.

   As far as I am aware, this issue needs to be fixed in this plugin.

   I've never able to replicate this problem. I've been using the plugin on a number of sites with static home pages, and I've never seen this error on any of them. I also tried it on several development sites.

   That said, I've just rewritten the plugin entirely for WP 3.3. If you are already running 3.3 beta and would like to test Private Suite 2.0-beta, you can grab the development version. Let me know if it resolves the issue.
