I just changed my permalinks to post name and apparently broke the connection to the theme, stylesheet and media library. Worse yet, I can’t get into my dashboard to change the setting back to the original. I keep getting a 500 internal server error.
Did you edit these settings through the dashboard or manually on the server?
Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Error 500 is too generic to be of any real use. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.
But what about a 404 error, @esmi ?.
Nevermind, I solved my issue. I had the site settings configured wrong in /etc/apache2/site-available/default.
@esb editor, I would recommend opening a new post for your issue.
@lorenzo_lewis, I edited the setting through the dashboard. That shouldn’t have caused all this havoc, should it? Can’t open a new post because I can’t get into my dashboard.
