Can't Select Database? (10 posts)

I've setup a database in mySQL configured the wp-config.php with the correct user name and password, however no matter what I set the DB_NAME to it won't connect.

I have tried the variations of the DB_NAME with and without the prefix, recooted the server and now am at a loss???

    Please help!

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the oppenheimergroup_com_-_mortgage-websites database.

    Are you sure it exists?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

Are you using cpanel / vdeck / plesk ?

Have you associated the user with the database ?

    I am using Ensim

How do I associate the User with the Database? I have virtually zero SQL experience.

    Thanks

I use Ensim too - a very very old one though.

You clicked the MySQL+, entered the name, got the success and the new name with the prefix and copied that into the config file ?

Checked really really carefully that a space hasn't crept into that name ?

Yes, in fact copied and pasted it, typed it in and tried with and without the prefix.
