   I can't see the user picture.
   I uploaded the picture using 'user picture' plugin.

   I cannot seem to figure out how to add profile pictures either. I assume we need a plugin, but which one?

   same here i installed both

   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-photo/

   and

   http://geekgrl.net/wordpress/wordpress-profile-pic-plugin/

   but they both do not work

   i'm on 2.7.1

   That is exactly what I did, too.
   But I have my picture shown in the blog, but with error messages, whenever I access my profile.

   Could you be more explicit about how this relates to the p2 theme?

   I installed User photo and, under Settings > User photo enabled th "Override Avatar with User Photo: " option.

   Voilá! Worked perfectly (after I uploaded a picture for the user, of course).
