    THEMES NOT SHOWING IN DASHBOARD
MY Service provider 34sp.com. I'm downloading themes from WordPress.org onto my Mac desktop. I unzip the files then FTP them to the correct server directory wp-content/ themes. the FTP shows the files to be there and aok in the correct directory. However, when I go to the WordPress dashboard all I can see are the two basic themes that come with WP and none of the uploaded themes.
It's driving me mad - there are very few solutions on a Google search and I have run through the forums on here by about 50 pages until blinded!
Can anyone offer a reasonable stab at why this is happening and the solution. I'm not very technical so would appreciate a non jargony answer if possible.
Thanks to all forum posters to this thread in advance
    Appreciated, Steve

Hi there - yes, watched both last night but unfortunately they do not provide a solution. I am confident at how to upload, not nest the files, name them appropriately etc - sadly, in this instance the tutorial offers no answers to why I can't see the themes... thankyou for your reply though and signposting me to them

    thank you for your response.
Blog is at http://nativephotography.co.uk/ but isn't populated as yet - I am walking through building it so there isn't much to see really.
I have tried many themes, most recent include: falling-dreams-10, daydream, delight and primepress - all downloaded from the WordPress site

SOLVED - a simple wipe and reinstall using one of 34sp.com's scripts brought about a solution

I'd be willing to bet all of you are nesting the themes. Nesting means that you have them as: wp-content/themes/themename/themename. If you're just unzipping the theme and uploading it this is most likely the case as there is usually a folder within the unzipped folder that contains the theme files.

    PS: krystyl and girlbudget...

It doesn't do any good to jump in on a thread that's marked with resolved because not much of anyone is gonna bother with it once they see it's resolved. You should start your own thread.
