Hi folks,
I recently upgraded a 2.X site to 3.0.1 and created a network. Now that I have my own administrators set up I'd like to set the original "admin" user to simply "subscriber" which as far as the site is concerned is the case, but... the account still has network administrator privileges which even after unchecking the option and clicking save remains checked, and it won't let me delete the user thanks to this option being set.
Has anybody else encountered this previously? Any ideas?
Cheers,
Robert
Crap. Looks like it broke again.
I've updated http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14051 with this info.
You know, they had this fixed for a while, too!
Can't remember if it was ever "fixed" but the reasoning is thus: if the Network Admin email address is the same as any Super Admin, then you cannot remove them as a super admin.
So, if you need to change someone, make sure that email address is not theirs.
if the Network Admin email address is the same as any Super Admin, then you cannot remove them as a super admin.
.... Well that'd be why MINE fails :) There should be a check in there to grey it out, or at least tell a girl 'Hey, you!' :)
Well, I'll put in a patch that says "Hey, girl, whatchoo doin'?" then! :D
(greyed out is a good idea)
The network admin email address fix did the trick :)
