Ran Sucuri and found MW:SPAM:SEO on our site, but running the scanner did not find it. Am I doing something wrong?

    zahweb,
I see you have restored your site and the ad link injected on your homepage is gone. Good job. I hope it doesn't come back. Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Hi, some files that were infected by this one are in the plugins quarantine. Now, somehow, my website is infected again and sucuri shows that some same files are infected as ones that are the quarantine and the plugin does not show an option to clean those files again.

    what should i do?

First make sure that you do a "Re-Scan" on sucuri because otherwise they will display cached results from a prior scan.

The other problem with sucuri is that they don't actually tell you what files are infected, only what URLs the infection is displayed on. Also, "MW:SPAM:SEO" is a somewhat generic name for a certain type of threat. There are many different varients that fall under that title.

If it still shows your site infected after a re-scan you can send me your infected URLs and I will look into if further.

If you don't want to post that info on a public forum you can email me directly: eli at gotmls dot net

    Aloha, Eli
