   I tried twice with two different user names but could not register for this forum with my main email address. My yahoo email works but that is not a convenient option for me.

   I filled out the WP Forum registration form, hit the "register" button and got a message saying that I would receive an email with a password - but I never got the email...twice.

   I attempted to log in with my username (with no password) several times which sends me to a page with a link to click for password recovery. Each time I ask for a new password, the system does send me an email (to my correct email address) with a link to generate a new password. I follow that link to the password reset page with the message:
   "Your password has been reset and a new one has been mailed to you." But, I never receive the new password.

   36 hours ago, I sent a message on this through the "WordPress.org website problems" page at http://wordpress.org/report-bugs. But, the only the internet time lords know when or if I will get a response. I really need to get started on wordpress. Any help or info is appreciated.

   If this forum is not broken, I have two suspicions. The host for the domain of the email address I am using is strong and popular for blog hosting:
   dreamhost.com
   But, Dreamhost does get blacklisted sometimes for porn sites hosted there I think. If I am getting blacklisted for being on a porn server, I need to know so I can request a different server. Also, I guess my user name could get blacklisted: "radicalism"
   But I need to know if that is so.

   If anyone has any info on this or who I can contact directly, please reply to this forum post.

   If someone from wordpress could directly help get my login working, please contact me at my yahoo email address donaldspark@yahoo.com for me to send you my password and email which I do not want to expose on the discussion board. Or maybe you can look up my username "radicalism" and fix it.

   Also, even though I am successfully logged in with a yahoo email address, when I click on "View your profile", I get a BBPress error:
   User not found.

   I am beginning to move forward on serious plans for some wp2.6 blogs and switching from movabletype to WP. But, I cannot start till I can receive email notifications from this discussion board.

   Except your pw, you will NEVER rerceive any "notifications" from this support forum. It doesn't have that kind of feature.

   Since nothing made by humans is perfect ever... it might be a glitch in the forum software not sending the eamil with the pw.

   I am trying to switch from Movabletype to WP this month. Please help me out here. I need to be able to participate in this forum.

   Not being able to receive notifications from the forum is bad. Is that lacking in BBPress? If not, why? I was hoping to be able to use BBPress on websites I host.

   I should be able to select a username. Can someone complete my registration with the user radicalism.us preferred or radicalism as a second choice?

   I read the whole forum rules and I understand the principle of not allowing sigs with links but that is something I have never seen in 12 years on the web. Not that I am the most well informed but... The rules also say not to use links in profiles but I see links in profiles.

   Is there a privacy anonymity thing going on here?

   In a related post, someone told me I had too many links in my post. Three is too many?

   theres absolutely nothing wrong with the registration- thing on this forum. YOu use a name and an email, and it emails you the password. Its that simple.

   if you didnt get an email, then you screwed up the email address you gave, or it went to a spam folder. People complain about a lot around here -- but what youre describing isnt one of those things.

   and you can, when you register -- as long as its not taken by someone else. HOW do you think you got the one your posting with now? You cannot change your username once its been chosen.

   And while Im not a mod here, THAT very thing begs the question -- youre posting about needing to do something that you are CURRENTLY doing.

   Can someone complete my registration with the user radicalism.us preferred or radicalism as a second choice?

   If I do that, I am keeping them. Again, I ask, whats wrong with the one that you are using?

   LOTS of forums discourage signatures. And it doesnt matter anyway. This one does.

   Some people will be helping here from work or a computer which is not their own. Other people may not wish to view sites which have content which has questionable or adult material. If your site could cause offence, you must mark your links as NSFW (Not Safe For Work). Additionally please do not link to your site in your profile - someone inadvertantly clicking your link could be offended.
   You will still get any help you need, but we can't have people getting into trouble when they are trying to help.
   Any links not so marked will be altered by Mods or removed at their discretion.

   Its not just the quantity, its where the links go. This forum uses askimet.

   Write less! Read more! Or more carefully, at least!

   There is no email notification from this forum. Ever. Got it?
   Use the RSS feed of a topic if you want to stay updated without visiting the forum.

   If you want to "participate" - start asking real, normal WP related questions instead of commenting endlessly about the forum.

   You are now registered and can start asking technical questions.

   And for the record: I hate when people are not able to read what I wrote and distort the meaning of it.

   posts are "eaten" by Akismet, the anti-spam plugin, which often perceives posts with many links (as your other topic) as spam

   This is what I wrote to you in the other thread.

   Long irrelevant posts even with one link often end up in the spam. So, get over it and go and start asking your real questions.
