• I’m working with a bunch of installations on a client’s servers, and with a couple of them, I can’t publish new content to WordPress. This happenes when I try copying and pasting content from the HTML view of Dreamweaver into the HTML view of WordPress. It’s clean text (no inline code or anything like that), but when I try to publish it, WordPress just sits and processes, ultimately giving me an error message.

I’ve been working with this client’s hosting company, and they’ve already tried increasing the PHP upload limit to 15 MB, but I don’t see what that has to do with creating a new post of just plain text.

I’m working with clean WordPress installations, and have tried uninstalling all plugins to see if that did the trick, which it didn’t. I’ve also tried creating a new WordPress installation free of plugins and everything else, and started adding fresh content there – same error for some posts.

At this point I’m stumped, and the hosting company doesn’t have anything to go on, so they’re stumped too. It’s not happening all the time, but only with some posts or pages. I work with WordPress a lot and have never encountered this problem before.

    Can anyone help???

  • What happens if you try publishing plain text (no markup) content?

15MB is still a little on the low side. Can it be upped to 32 or 64?

I’ll check with the hosting company and see if they can do that. In the meantime, I’m going to check with my hosting company and see what their limit is. I post lengthy blog posts all the time and have never had any problems.

Just out of curiosity, what’s considered an optimum upload limit to run WordPress?

Another dumb question: would the browser have anything to do with it? I was using Firefox to post and that’s where I was having the problems. But, on a whim I just tried it in Internet Explorer, and it’s working fine.
