Can't Preview, Post, or View Blog (9 posts)

Greetings. I have had this issue for about 3 days now and my hosting company can't help me.

I am currently logged in my blog as an admin (I am afraid to log out) and I can see everything in Dashboard. I can create a post, but when I click preview, I get a blank screen. When I click publish nothing happens and I can't publish the post. When I navigate to my blog's home page, I can't view the blog at all.

However, other people can view my blog and those at my web hosting company can see my blog fine.

    So far I have tried:

Deleting spaces at the end of my htacess file.
Checking to see if my IP was blocked on all htacess files.
Disabling all plugins via the database and in admin and reactivating them.
None of this is working and I am not sure what can be wrong.

    Any help would be appreciated.

To do basic debuging, you need to log in and out. Have you tried another computer and/or browser?

    Have you tried:

    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi Kmessinger,

Thank you for the response. I do not have access to another computer, but I can use another browser. I will try logging in and out in another browser.

This morning I did try switching the theme as you suggested to Twenty Ten. There is no difference. When I switch the theme - I can't even see the theme in theme preview. After I switch the theme I still have the same issues.

I reset the plugins via PHPMyAdmin a day or so ago. This morning I tried it again to be sure per your suggestion. With all the plugins disabled I have the same issue - so I re-enabled them one by one.

Update. I have not logged out yet, but I did try to post a blog post and publish it.

This is odd. I was able to publish the post and WordPress allowed me to view that particular post, but WordPress won't allow me to view or preview any other posts that are in draft form.

Also I still can't view my blog if I go directly to the domain regardless of browser.

    2nd Update.

Whatever is happening is really odd.

I can't view (its a white screen) the blog's static home/welcome page which is supposed to show when you come to the domain i.e. http://www.blog.com.

If I navigate to other static pages such as: "/about" I can see everything perfectly. I can see all blog posts on the "posts" page.

But when I am in admin and I try to preview or post another blog post sometimes a preview pops open in a new window and I can see it normally and sometimes it won't let me and I get a blank white screen.

    3rd update

I finally logged out. I was able to log back in - thank goodness.

The login screen views normally and I can get into Dashboard, but if I click the icon in the left hand corner of the login screen that reads "back to blog" to view the blog - I get the same blank white screen as I stated above whenever I navigate directly to the blog at http://www.domain.com.

    4th Update.

I can login and out, but now its doing the same thing as earlier. I can see Dashboard, but can't preview posts or see the main static page.
