• Let me start by saying if this has been addressed before, forgive me. I searched and could not find an answer.

On my multisite setup I (as the administrator) have no problems creating posts of any length. However, there is another administrator in another part of the country who can create posts over 550 characters. Whenever he attempts to do so the system would time out on him. However, for me it is no problem.

I have searched everywhere. My memory limit is set to 64MB. Any other suggestions?

FYI: We do have buddypress installed. Not sure if this matter or not.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Start looking at server logs.

Times out how? While typing? When publishing? Where is he posting, in posts or in the Buddypress areas?

really, stab in the dark guesses here without more info. 😉

If you can’t reproduce it on your end, depending on where he is, it may very well be his connection as well. You have to try & eliminate that. If he can try posting from a different location on a different computer that’d help.

    Andrea_r,

Sorry for not providing enough details. The problem occurs whenever he tries to publish a post and even tries to edit a post. If a post contains 550 characters, it’s not even possible for him to add more content to the existing post.

If I look at the the server logs, what is it that I am looking for?

    Thanks again.

Look for anything unusual in the logs. Hey, I’m just guessing here too.

(tip: it’s how server admins do their job: guess. 😀 )

How’d you narrow it down to that specific character count?
What happens if you edit the post logged in with his credentials?

I’d take a stab and looking for mod_security errors personally.
