    Here are the steps

    - Under "Posts" (left coll) click "add new"
    - Next to "Upload/Insert", there are various icons for:
"Add an Image" "Add Video" "Add Audio" "Add Media"
Roll over for alt text to pick the correct one "Add Video"
    - Select "From URL" (second tab)
    - For URL use : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-DzQWcDeN0
    - For Title use : Anything
    - Then Click "Insert Into Post"
    - Then it displays:

    Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/media-upload.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    - I am seeing this error for any attempt to post using this function from a URL.

    - I have not tried to use "From Computer" or "Media Library" since this is not what I am trying to do.

    - I have spend two days with an open ticket with my host and they see no issues. Infact, my home ip address is white listed.

    - They have mod_security, but put in rules for wordpress so that should no be it.

    - Making or changing the .htacess file does nothing since they are running mod_security.. i looked up this issue and tried that.

    - All perms are 755

So at this point...not sure what the problem is. I had a friend try this same action in his wordpress and he saw the same error.

    Thanks in advance!

Does it work with an existing post? You can't add an image to a new post unless it has at least been saved as a draft, as far as I recall.

Images do seem to work in all cases, however posting media such as Video and MP3 urls do not. I just tried saving the post first and no change.

    Thanks,

Do you get a link to download the video or mp3? If so, that's the standard, default, behaviour. If you want the videos/mp3s to play, you'll need to use a player (try looking in the Plugins Directory).

Just get the error page and there is no change to the post, txt or code inserted. But if all its doing is generating the <"a" href="url"> (minus the extra quotes), and nothing else, I can do that on my own. I thought there was a built in player so I didnt need to use "WordPress Video Plugin" and "Audio player" which is what I am using now.

Sorry - no built in players. Does everything work OK with "WordPress Video Plugin" and "Audio player"?

Yep. They seem ok. Though trying to install and use any plugins when my host is running mod_secutiry 2 was a real challange. ;) ..Tis why I thought this may be related. I went though quite a bit of false positives with modsec2. From cross site scripting, to login attempts to open connections, etc..was a crash course in host security.

    Thanks,
    -Phil
