Can't Post Comments to WP Site

    Hi,

    Users are trying to post comments, but they are getting error messages like:

    The webpage at http://76.91.201.238/$ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
    Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

    The IP address in the message is whatever the user’s ip address is. Apparently, wordpress is redirecting the comments back to the commentor’s ip rather than to the server.

    Has my site been hacked? And how do i fix? Thanks

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
