I’m a newbie to WordPress (although experienced in html/css, site builds, ftp etc), and I’m really keep to get to grips with it. Unfortunately I have EXACTLY the same problem as above:
The default site loads fine, I just cannot login to the admin, I always get:
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /blog/wp-login.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
1. I’m using Version 2.7 and have followed the 5 minute install.
2. I have reinstalled numerous times on two different servers and still get the same result.
3. I have also tried resetting the password as suggested elsewhere.
Have now run out of ideas!
Please could someone advise as to what the problem may be and how I can correct this?
Thank You
BudBoy
Ah-ha!
Having run out of ideas I contacted one of my hosts and asked them about this problem.
Turns out it was due to Mod_security being enabled! This is a ‘by request’ function which is set for security reasons.
Once disabled the admin worked fine!
Hope this helps if you’re having similar problems.
