    Hello!

I noticed that I can't log into my blog (theoriginaldjtonik.com) any more and my website is down. This is the error message that I get:

    Internal Server Error 500
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@theoriginaldjtonik.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

That might get you back into your site.

    Hello Esmi!

Thanks for your help. So I have to change the information by FTP, which is located on my host's website?

The host said to do the following:
You need to fully delete all WordPress themes/plugins and reinstall the
ones you need from fresh/clean downloads via a trusted source. for
    example, these files:

Pardon my tech illiteracy, but I don't know how to delete the WordPress themes/plugins if I can't access the site.

Does it sound reasonable what the host suggested? Or should I try your approach?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. A detailed response is best!!!!

Both approaches are the same. You have to go in through FTP.

I would avoid deleting the theme, especially if you have made changes that you would like to keep.

As Esmi suggests using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) will give you access to the files. If you don't have an FTP program try downloading something free like Cyberduck http://cyberduck.ch/ and follow the instructions on setting up your FTP access.
