Can't login to my admin area - Get redirected to a page not mine (4 posts)

    Hi,

I have a domain name -- HomeBusinessPlugin.com -- that I never used. Some months ago I installed a WordPress.org blog in it but didn't develop anything in that blog.

Then recently I tried to install in my server (HostGator) a subdomain for the above domain, but I couldn't, for some technical reason I couldn't quite figure out. Therefore, I deleted that subdomain (and honestly I don't remember the details about this part of the story).

That's when the problem started: after deleting that subdomain, I can't login to the admin area for HomeBusinessPlugin.com. It keeps redirecting to this site (which it's not mine):

    http://homebusinessplugin.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fhomebusinessplugin.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

I can still log in to this WordPress.org forum and all, but not to my blog. I went to Hostgator and deleted the domain completely (or so I think ...), but it didn't help.

    Any words of wisdom, please?

I'll REALLY appreciate all the help I can get on this. My technical knowledge is really not great.

    Thank you.

    Paul

Have you raised a ticket with hostgator about this? It sounds like the problem is caused by changes you made on their control panel.

Well, didn't think of that. I'll do that and report back when I get their reply.

    Thanks for now.

OK CubeColour, problem solved. The HostGator guys were very helpful.

I forgot to mention that I had reinstalled a WP blog for that domain to see if that solved the problem, but it seemed to have had no effect. However, unbeknownst to me, there was a "5-minute installation" page waiting to be filled for the blog setup to be completed. That page only showed up when I input the blog's URL in the browser's address field, without the "wp-login" part.

Once I completed the form, the blog was reinstalled and now everything is OK again.

So thanks for your helpful tip.

    Take care.
