Can’t login to domain.com/wp-admin

Hi,

I’ve looked on http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress and updated the databases. I also changed my email address on both wp_options and wp_users in the db using phpmyadmin.

I moved my blog from oldsite.com to newsite.com changed the db values as per the document above, even changed the pwd and email address and still can’t log in to wp-admin. However, now that I’ve changes site and home values to newsite.com, I am able to interact with wp-admin. For example it recognizes the user admin however doesn’t recognize the pwd. When I say lost password and for it to email it to me, it says it does and did when entering the username of admin.

However I do not receive any emails even though i changed the emails in db wp-options and wp-users to my current email address.

Anyone know anything about this to give me step by step instructions?
