Hi All,
I updated my email address on a site I am currently building - and now I can't login.
I registered a new dummy user to the site, and this sent a user request to my old email address.
Things I've tried:
- login with both email address's in the username (not even sure if that works) but both times failed.
- resetting my password - username & email address not found
- resetting my new dummy username I set up password - that worked and got sent to my email address
- Sending test emails to my new email address - they all work
I'm not really sure what else I can do - do you suggest perhaps reinstalling the wp-login file?
Thank you.
Here is an article on Emergency WordPress Access that might help.

Give this a read.

You don't need the WordPress dashboard working for those methods, just either mysql (phpmyadmin) or file level access to your WordPress installation on your server.

Thank you - I went to the Emergency WordPress Access page and then found this link which was great!

FYI - it seemed as though someone had hacked into my account, they had changed my username and had an email address I've never seen before.
I've now deleted that person, updated my passwords and the file I uploaded to change my details!
Thanks

I have just logged in to discover the hackers have deleted everything, all my pages, products and media. I've spent almost 100 hours working on this site.
It is so sad that there are such cruel people in this world
Do you have any recent database backups? Do your hosts have any backups?
Hackers almost always leave themselves one or more 'back doors' to re-infect your site. If you don't remove those, it will only be a matter of hours before you are re-infected.
If you don't have access to a clean backup and have to start over, talk to your hosting service about 'wiping' your file area to completely get rid of the hacker's files.

I have a backup from about 4 days ago - so I'm trying to upload that now, so hopefully that is a clean copy.
If i see any signs of trouble once I've uploaded it I'll have the hosting company wipe my file.
Thanks everyone for your help - it is very much appreciated! :)
