After successfully installing and using my WordPress blog, I tried logging in today and encountered the "500 internal server error". I haven't changed anything on the server and I don't understand why it stopped working all of a sudden. The wordpress installation is not in the root folder of the domain, but in a subfolder. Either way, it worked just fine yesterday. Any suggestions?

Seems a bit odd that it would just stop working.
If you browse to it in a non-IE browser do you see a different error message or is it still the generic 500 message?

Posted 3 years ago #Fixed it. It was the hosting service. They briefly disabled their PHP support.
