    Hi,

I registered the domain http://mypreston.com yesterday, and am now having serious problems.

I provisionally installed the start news template. Since then, I cannot log back in.

It won't let me access the wp-admin directory, giving me this error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/45/5724745/html/wp-content/themes/start-news/functions.php:333) in /home/content/45/5724745/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 868

And when I go to the extension http://mypreston.com/wp-login.php I am presented with the normal log in screen. However once I type my details in and hit log in I'm presented with this:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/45/5724745/html/wp-content/themes/start-news/functions.php:333) in /home/content/45/5724745/html/wp-login.php on line 302

Help would be greatly appreciated. This website needs to be up and running within a month or so, and my friends are really relying on me to get it going. If anyone has any solutions it'd be great.

    Hi,

    Refer this article:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble

    Also check with these steps:

It is usually due to spaces, new lines, or other garbage at opening/closing PHP file <?php tag or after a closing ?> tag in wp-config.php. It can be other file too so need to check error message as it may list file name where the error occurred.

You can either upload error file from the backup or edit erroneous file. To edit the file one need to check below mentioned points:

    1. Download the file mentioned in the error message.

    2. Open that file in a plain text editor

    3. Check that the very first characters are <?php

    4. Check that the very last characters are ?>

    5. Place the cursor between the ? and >

    6. Now press the DELETE key on your computer and keep that key pressed for at least 15 seconds.

    7. Now type > and

    8. Save without pressing any other key at all.

    That’s it!

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Hi Shane, thanks for getting in touch.

This sounds dumb, but I'm new to all this, how do I download the file?

Oh, and I've downloaded nothing, so there's no way I can access any code on my computer.

    Seriously, seriously stuck.

Using your FTP, go into your wp-content/themes directory and delete the files in start-news

Then login again, through http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/ You will then need to reset your theme.

Ok. FTP was playing up earlier, so hopefully at some point will start working :)
