    I’m trying to get wordpress to work on my mac, but I am stuck on Step #4

    href=”http://http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_Locally_on_Your_Mac_With_MAMP”>
    Downloading and Installing WordPress
    Now it’s time to download WordPress. Once you’ve downloaded and unzipped the WordPress download, open up the “wordpress” folder. Click and drag all of the files from the wordpress folder to your MAMP document root (I use /Users/USERNAME/Sites/wordpress/).

    I’m unclear as to where to find my MAMP document root to drag the files from WP.
    Do I have to create the document root, if so, where?
    Where am I creating the file Users/USERNAME/Sites/wordpress/).? in my computer, MAMP or wordpress?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you govpatel for your prompt reply!
    I am totally unfamiliar and a novice in WordPress. Therefore, I’m stil not clear as to where in MAMP i’m dragging the WordPress files into. I’m going to need a bit more direction and explanation as of how to do it step by step. Can you please guide me to drag all the WordPress files into MAMP document root?
    Thank you in advance,

    if you click on Mamp folder where ever ever you installed you should see htdocs folder click on it and in that folder you need have wordpress folder

    Thank you! I finally dragged all the WP files into htdocs in Mamp.
    Now, to install wordpress, where will I find my my localhost to setup the database form to start the download?
    I really appreciated all your support.
    Thank you again.

    I am that familiar with Mamp you should have a program phpmyadmin as that is waht I have in Wamp see if you can create database in that program and use the info when you install wordpress.
