Not really. I’d guess that the pagination gets a little messy on archive pages, but I couldn’t be sure.
You should be able to just call:
if ( function_exists( 'sul_get_template_part' ) ) sul_get_template_part( 'search', 'author' );
to get the search. But that doesn’t guarantee that the form will work properly… I really can’t get in to testing and supporting custom implementations at this time.

This plugin and amr-users conflicts when both are activated. I’ve notified the developer and thought that you should know as well.
Conflicts how? From a cursory glance it looks like the plugins overlap in functionality, why would you need both?
You’re right that I don’t need them both, but I thought I’d tell you as the developer. I don’t know if the info changes anything for you, but better that you know than that you don’t.
This plugin isn’t in super-aggressive development, so until it seems like a more pressing problem, I’m probably not going to worry about it. Thanks for pointing it out though.
