• Hi,

I am new at all this.
I bought a hosting package which allows me to have unlimited domains. I want to install wp on all my domains but I cant do so because
    I get following errors
there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain.
How can I install wp on my main domains?

I should add that I do have a site running with wp under the same hosting package but I cant install any wp on any of the other main home address

    ladymoura,

You’re trying to install wp to some directory that already has some files inside. Check that directory via file manager.

    Thanks for your reply arkgroup.

Yes I have and it is installed on one of the sites but I am not able to install wp on any of the other main domain names that I have because I can only install wp on the sub directories in stead of the main home page website address. Is there any way I can install wp on my home page on different domains?

    What host are you using?

    just host

May be it’s some kind of restriction of autoinstaller. Or may be there os a workaround, I just don’t know for sure. You are always able to install wordpress manually and it’s not hard at all:

    1. Download wordpress from http://wordpress.org/
    2. Unzip it on your local computer.
    3. Upload all the files using FTP to root directory of your other domain name.
    4. Create a database and database username with password from your hosting control panel.
    5. Access http://your-domain.com/ and follow the instructions. The main thing you’ll need to do is to type database info into appropriate fields. You got database info at step 4.

The information above is very helpful
But – how and where do I create a database and database username for a subdomain?

    Thanks

Within your Just Host control panel you should be able to set up a database and it will walk you through the information you need to record for later use. A database should be allowed to be set up regardless of any particular domain – or at least for most hosts (as I do not have an account with Just Host. Then with the steps outlined for manual installation, you would access the url for the subdomain folder.

I am new to this forum and don’t know if we are allowed to give help off line but I am willing to help over the phone or something…

Here is the Just Host instructions for creating a database:

To create a MySQL database please follow the steps below:

    – Login to your control panel at http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
    – Click on ‘MySQL Databases’ in the ‘Databases’ menu
    – Enter the name of your new database and then click on ‘Create Database’
    – Add database users by assigning them a username and password then clicking on ‘Create User’
