    Hi,
A client bought the URL goodwealthguide.co.uk for me to make a site out of with wordpress, I usually had someone else to upload the wordpress files, anyway...

I downloaded the latest version of wordpress of the wordpress.org site and uploaded it to the server using filezila. I edited the wp-config file correctly and went to http://.goodwealthguide.co.uk/wp-admin/install.php but it didn't come up. do I have to edit any of the files that were alredy on? (before I uploaded wp) thease files are:

    - conf
    - home
    - logs
    - public
    - security

Thanks for reading, hope you can help.
    Adam.

Have you switched the domain name's DNS listings to direct to your server?

What's in the public directory? And the home directory? You might need to upload to one of those directories, though I'm not sure. Does your web-host offer any uploading instructions?

Computers connect via IP address which are four sets of 3 number separated by a period-- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Mere humans don't remember those numbers very well. They like names. The domain name system-- DNS-- connects those numbers to those names. When you buy a domain name, you get a name. You don't get a number. The number is the number assigned to the computer that hosts your website-- well, sort of :). (I won't complicate things unnecessarily. Call it a useful fiction.) You need to get this from your web host. Ask them for the addresses to their DNS servers. Then you go back to where you purchased the domain, login, and give them that number.

Looks like you need to upload to public/www. Again, your web host should have instructions for at least basic uploading.
