    Hello,

I've just installed WordPress. I have used a free WP blog in the past. With the new blog when I look at the dashboard a lot of the graphics are missing, text unstyled and generally looks a bit odd though I can navigate though the menus ok.

So I go to upload a new theme, that is a .zip file, and I get this message:

Unable to create directory /home/carmacreative/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Can anyone help out with this dashboard appearance / theme problem please?

    Thanks,
    Phil

    Dashboard:
Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    "Unable to create directory" issue:
Change the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.
