• So I installed WordPress onto my website yesterday. Tried playing around with it today, and attempted to install a different theme. I tried to do it through the FTP, but that didn’t work. It just doesn’t load. So I tried to upload it, and it gives me a 500 Internal Server error. Apparently GoDaddy has issues like this, so I call them and ask what I could do to fix this. They tell me they can’t help me because the error is on WordPress’s end. They told me to uninstall whatever I installed… even though I informed them I can’t even begin to install anything because of the server error.

So I’m kind of perplexed and stuck. I’m not sure what I have to do to make it work. I don’t understand why there would be an error in the first place when I’m JUST starting to tinker with it.

  • You might check to see if they can tell you more specifically what is causing the Internal Server Error. That would help better pin down whether it’s a WordPress issue or an issue with your hosting provider.

Well I told them how would I know whether it was a wordpress issue, or a GoDaddy issue, and the guy I talked to went to my site and saw that it was up, said it’s obviously not a GoDaddy issue because my site was working fine.

Not the most deductive way to find an answer I know.
