You should try to re-upload the files and try again, What host are you using?
I have shared hosting on rapidshare. Just re-uploaded files and still not working.
try this:
open or create a file named “.htaccess” in the same directory as wp-config.php and put the following text in the top of that file:
php_value memory_limit 32M
and then try to install
hmmm… this is a head scratcher
whats the url to your website? and hosting site?
This is link to txt file with url to the website and hosting site: http://www.my-domain.com/websitedata.txt I will delete it after you download.
the server shows a 500 internal server error, the problem with your website is in the server configuration, they probably have you limited to what you can do. I recomend that you switch hosts, like to 20x.cc, freehostingcloud.com or freei.me those are all very very good and free hosting providers. did you register your domain through your current host?
i am having a similar issue. tried installing on my godaddy server. when I try to access site i get “Error establishing a database connection”. I have reinstalled everything twice, checked my configs, yet to no avail
im installing wp 3.0.2, PHP 5.0, mysql 5.0.
I’m planning to install older version. Have you found some solution yet Alex and Anthony? Will I wait or I can start removing files from server?
If i were you I’d switch hosts, like to the ones i recommended above ^ if you need any help I will gladly help
I can’t do that. It’s my client’s site. I usually make custom CMS. Never used wordpress. But for this project I wanted to try, to start learning while working. I can always make custom CMS if I fail to install wordpress.
I would go with the custom CMS then, because it’s the server that won’t allow wordpress. we can’t change any of that
My server allows wordpress. I have one older installed on another domain. It also offers to install wordpress via Cpanel. I just done that. But is older version. It was working. But it didn’t have button for automatic upgrade. I have tried to upgrade manualy and now wp-admin is not working. When i go to wp-admin link I get this URL http://my-domain.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F
does it display any messages
