[resolved] Can't insert shortcodes (10 posts)

Occasionally, I can insert a shortcode using the 'paw' button on the WYSIWYG. More often it fails.
The dialog window opens, I can see the saved searched from Search Manager, and I can select one, but when I click Insert Shortcode, the modal window goes away and no shortcode is inserted.

I should also mention I've tried on Mac with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari and get the same result in each.

When I review the console in FF, there appears to be an error in the js that calls the modal window "Use of attributes' specified attribute is deprecated. It always returns true."

It looks like this might be related to a bug in jQuery.

However, according to these posts it should only impact users of Firefox 7. What version of Firefox are you using?

It is possible you are actually encountering two errors but only seeing a message from the one because it is Firefox specific.

I will look into this more and see if I can reproduce it.

Just so I can be more accurate with my testing which version of the plugin are you using and which version of WordPress? Thanks.

The conflict seems to be with Advanced Custom Fields. If I temporarily disable that plugin, I can insert the shortcode. Re-enabling Advanced Custom Fields does not prevent the shortcodes form working, but it prevents the WolfNet shortcode from being inserted.

I had the same problem on this Mac in Chrome 24.0.1312.56, Firefox 18.0.1, and Safari 5.1.7

We are using WordPress 3.5.1 with the following plugins:
    WolfNet IDX for WordPress 1.1.3
    Advanced Custom Fields 3.5.8.1
    Category Custom Fields 1.0
    Contact Form 7 3.3.3
    Executable PHP widget 2.1
    MCE Table Buttons 2.0
    Post Types Order 1.5.7
    Ultimate Coming Soon Page 1.6.1
    Widget Logic 0.56
    WordPress SEO 1.3.4.4

Thanks. Great information. I should be able to install that "Advanced Custom Fields" plugin and determine if there is a fix I can put into our code to counter the bug.

I have been able to identify the problem and I am not working on implementing a solution. The fix should be in place with the next plugin release.

It turns out our shortcode builder does not play well will multiple instances of the TinyMCE editor on a page at one time.

@thenichols Would you be able to provide a little more information. A link to your website for example. If you would rather not share such information publicly please contact service@wolfnet.com and they can funnel your information to me. Thanks.
