    Greetings,

I appreciate your time to this forum. I've spent a lot of time trying to find an answer to this question before posting a question because I value your time.

    My question:
I can't seem to get my podcast image to appear in iTunes. I have created a 600x600 px .jpg image. Tried it in photoshop. Tried it in gimp. I've put the link into the iTunes:Image field. It displays in the podpress preview fine.

In iTunes I get the default image for podcasts. The one that looks like a microphone.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Craig Nybo

    Craig,

maybe your are not doing something wrong.

If you have registered the feed in the last 24h and the image was not set or was the default image while you have registered the feed then you should insert the URL of your custom image in the podPress settings and wait.
The iTunes Store refreshes the content of the page every 24 hours automatically.

If you are already waiting more than 24 hours then you might want to check your settings again.
Which RSS Feed did you register at the iTunes Store? A default feed of the blog? Or a podPress Feed? Have you set the itunes:image for the right feed?

    Regards,
    Tim

ntm, thanks a ton for the prompt reply.

The feed URL is what I registered: http://craignybo.com/?feed=podcast

    The iTunes:Image link is:

    http://www.craignybo.com/podcasts/CraigNyboBlog_Cover.jpg

Do these corespond? I can't tell.

It has been weeks since I registered the podcast, but less than 24 hours since reformatting the image using Gimp rather than photoshop. I pinged iTunes to try and update it.

This feed URL leads to the feedburner site of this feed ("http://feeds.feedburner.com/ScaryStoriesWithCraigNybo"). The iTunes:image is still "http://www.craignybo.com/podcasts/HarrowingTales_PodcastFrame.jpg". But it has the right format and is reachable.
This image should work as well as CraigNyboBlog_Cover.jpg.

To update the image in the feedburner version of the feed you might find something useful in the feedburner settings.

The 24 hours are starting when the image in the feed which you have registered at the iTunes Store includes the new image (e.g. when the feedburner feed has the updated image).

I don't know whether it is relevant or not but if try to use http://craignybo.com/?feed=podcast in a feed validator like http://validator.w3.org/feed/ then the result is a "404 Page not found" error. Maybe that is a problem with the redirection of the URL. I don't know.
But the redirection seems to work when open the URL in my browser.
Maybe it is a good idea to change the URL of the feed at the iTunes Store to the feedburner URL of the feed.

    Tim
