Hi,
I've done this successfully before so it's particularly frustrating this time...
I'm following these instructions:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates
A friend of mine is helping me to create a custom theme so perhaps theres a small piece of coding missing? Its the only thing I can think of.
When we create the new php file the Page Template option does not appear!
("...(Note: when creating or editing a Page, the Page Template option does not appear unless there is at least one template defined in the above manner.)"
Any input greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad.

It looks as though it's actually referring to the code mentioned here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates
...which we've already done.

I have tried and tried and I'm still dead in the water. I was actually going to use cmsms until I realised you could use Templates... :/
It should be so simple! heeeeeelp!

If you are sure you have a valid Page Template but it still is not showing when writing a Page, then change to the WordPress Default Theme, then change back to your theme.

I have the same problem. I tried changed my theme to the default theme, and then back, but it didn't work. In the default theme, there is the atribute Page Template, but it disappears when I change to the theme I am using (Blog News). Any idea?
